Missions’ Emphasis Month
Month of October
Come join us as we celebrate missions for the month of October. Each week, during the Sunday morning service, we will be focusing on the different missionaries that we support, with updates and prayer letters read. We will have videos from our supported missionaries each week, giving us and update on their ministries, as well as bits of encouragement. It’s a great time to remind us how we can have an integral part in bringing the Gospel to our area and to the world. Remember, you can’t spell Gospel without Go!
During Missions’ Emphasis month, we will be having a revival service on Friday, October 6th, with special guest speaker Don Chitty, missionary to the Navajo Nation. Pastor Chitty, while in the marines, was wounded several times in Vietnam, with one of his wounds being so severe that he initially was thought to be dead and was placed in a body bag. During his service in the Armed Forces, he received three purple hearts, the Bronze Star, and two presidential citations. After he concluded his military service, Chitty said he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1970, and a year later was called to preach. In 1977, he started the Open Bible Baptist Church in Waterflow, New Mexico, an outreach to the Navajo Nation, and still ministers there today.
If you plan on attending the dinner at 6:00 pm, please email the church and let us know by October 2, 2023. Thank you!
On Sunday, October 8, the revival service will continue, with our Missions’ Emphasis Day. Pastor Chitty will be preaching at Sunday School, the morning service, and the evening service. Come, join us – you will be blessed!
On October 29th, Pastor Perry Jones, from the Capital City Rescue Mission will be preaching at our morning service, at 10:45 am. Come and see how the Lord is working in the Capital District today!
